Summons Hemant Soren (CM Hament Soren) in twin cases. ED has summoned the Chief Minister of Jharkhand in the case of mining scam and money laundering in Jharkhand. Summons have already been sent to him. Hemant has been ordered to appear at the office of the Enforcement Directorate in Ranchi tomorrow, Thursday.
Earlier, the ED arrested two other people including Pankaj Mishra, who is close to the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, in this case. Last July, the ED conducted a joint raid at several addresses in the state to investigate the mining corruption. At that time, the ED claimed that the whereabouts of 11 crore 88 lakh rupees were found in Pankaj Mishra's bank account. That account was also confiscated. In addition, the detectives of the investigating agency recovered Rs 5 crore 34 lakh cash from Pankaj's house. At that time several checks were found at Pankaj's house, which were signed by Hemant Soren.
The ED's chargesheet says Pankaj Mishra is one of the masterminds of mining corruption in Jharkhand. Not only that, he is known to be very close to Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Originally, Pankaj handled the illegal mining business in Hemant's assembly constituency, claimed the investigators. Meanwhile, the ED has filed a charge sheet against Pangaj Mishra and his two accomplices Bachchu Yadav and Prem Prakash. This time, the Central Investigation Agency took a tough stance by summoning Hemant Soren.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has been in trouble ever since his name got involved in illegal mining and financial fraud cases. The main charge against him is that he broke the rules and took the mining lease in his own name. The BJP filed a complaint with the Election Commission in this regard. Controversy started around this incident. Hemant Soren almost lost the post of Chief Minister. In the end Astha somehow secured the throne by proving a majority in the vote of confidence. Although the ED's summons mentioned the Chief Minister's presence at the Ranchi office tomorrow, neither Hemant Soren nor the Chief Minister's office responded to the matter.
