Then, both the woman and the man were punished by the Taliban. Last Thursday (October 13), the married man with whom the woman eloped was executed. It was said that on Friday, the woman would be stoned and killed. But, he committed suicide before that.
"Because we don't have a women's prison here, the woman was sentenced to public stoning," said Abdur Rahman, spokesman for the Taliban provincial police in Ghor province. But, before being punished, he ended his life by suffocating himself with a dupatta.” According to sources, the trend of women running away from home has increased recently in various provinces of Afghanistan.
