Asansol: According to sources, the pickup vans were supposed to enter Bengal loaded with cows from Chapra animal fair in Bihar.
Asansol: Pickup van loaded with cows seized again. Villagers chased 12 pickup vans carrying cattle and caught 6 pickup vans. But the remaining 6 escaped. 6 car drivers have been arrested.
According to sources, the pickup vans were supposed to enter Bengal loaded with cows from Chapra animal fair in Bihar. Before that, the villagers intercepted the vans at Sonardihi in Dhanbad. The villagers seized the vans and took them to Dhanbad's Dharmband OP meaning Dharmband police outpost. The police investigated and found that cows were purchased from the animal market and had receipts. But there is an average in numbers. Car is allowed to carry two or three cows but not six. It is alleged that 18 of the total 36 cows were being taken illegally. Police have started investigating the incident.
It may be noted that pickup vans loaded with cows have been caught in Dhanbad, Barbadda and Maithon police stations for the past one month. Police or locals catch them before they enter Bengal. The same thing happened today.
On the other hand, the police of Asansol North Police Station detained a pickup van loaded with cows on the Dunbar National Highway at Kalla Mor in Asansol North Police Station area. The pickup van came to the attention of the police when it met with an accident. The police arrested and brought to the police station. After examining the documents, the police have started an investigation.
