Dhaka: The first 'Made in Bangladesh Week' is set to start in Dhaka from November 12. The week -long program will highlight the potential and progress of the textile industry of Bangladesh. Many Indian companies of cloth knitting and ready-made dress will also participate in 'Made in Bangladesh Week'. The program will highlight various aspects of the garment and textile knitting industry. In addition, there are sports carnival, cultural events and various seminars in addition to the 'target 20' exhibition.

Although the week -long program started from November 12, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina will formally inaugurate it on November 7. The garment export organization of the country, 'Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association' or BGMEA President Farooq Hassan, said the garment and knitting industry is the largest industrial field in Bangladesh. There are about one million people directly involved in this sector. In all, about five million people are employed in different ways.

More presidents of BGMEA have said that Bangladesh is currently the second largest country in the world in export of readymade dress. However, he hoped that Bangladesh would occupy the top spot in this regard very soon. In the meantime, Bangladesh has occupied the top spot in the United States and Europe in export of denim or jeans. Farooq Hassan said, "How is this possible and how Bangladesh will move in the days ahead, all those things will be highlighted in 'Made in Bangladesh Week'. In this case, India is the biggest development partner. ”
