Tarapith: On this day special puja will be done to Maa Tara in the form of Shyama along with the daily worship of Maa.
Birbhum: Kali puja today. Mother Tara is worshiped as Kali on this day in Tarapith. Because mother is the presiding deity here. Mother Tara is revered above all goddesses. So there is no worship of any goddess idol in Tarapeeth. All the Goddess idols are worshiped in Siddhapeeth Tarapeeth with Maa Tara in front of them. On the occasion of Dipanbita Kali Puja that is why Mother Tara is also worshiped as Shyama. On this day, special puja will be done to Mother Tara in the form of Shyama along with the daily worship of Mother.
And mother Tara was bathed in the morning for five days. The goddess is then decorated in the form of Shyama with an octahedron mask, mundamala, crown, gold ornaments, dak ornaments and flower garlands. Then the Mangalarati begins. Shital bhog is given along with the first puja of Maa Tara. And like five days, mother's daily food is also given on this day.
After that, Nishirat Devi is dressed in gold ornaments and dress as Raj Rajeshwari and the Shyama Rupa Puja is started. The temple will be open all night today. A priest of the temple said, 'Tarapeeth is Tantrapeeth. It is Sadhanapeeth. Not a satipeeth of any 51 peeths. So worship will be done here according to Tantra. The Goddess is bathed with panchamrita in the early morning tantra. Aarti was then performed. Then the sanctum sanctorum is opened for devotees. Many Tantrics will come here today for Sadhana.
